The Cincinnati Bengals (now 4-8) secured a massive, confidence-boosting 32-14 victory over the Baltimore Ravens (6-6) on Thanksgiving night. The win was fuelled by the return of their star quarterback and a dominant defensive performance.
👑 Joe Burrow is Back
ü
The Return: QB Joe Burrow made his
much-anticipated return after being sidelined for nine games with a Grade 3
turf toe injury (sustained in Week 2). He had been officially activated from
the Reserve/Injured list just days before the game.
ü
Performance: Burrow was visibly rusty in
the first half but found his rhythm in the second. He finished 24-of-46 for
261 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions. Notably, he was sacked
four times. He is wearing a carbon fiber plate in his cleat to stabilize the
toe.
ü
Post-Game: Burrow expressed his joy,
stating there's "no better feeling" than putting in the work and
seeing it pay off. His return keeps the Bengals' slim playoff hopes alive,
requiring them to win out to potentially secure a Wild Card spot.
💥 Dominant Defense and
Turnover Battle
ü
The Bengals' defense had its best performance of
the season, forcing a remarkable five total turnovers from the Ravens,
including two Lamar Jackson fumbles, an interception, and fumbles from two
other players.
ü
The defense was credited by Head Coach Zac
Taylor for setting the tone for their "first all-around game" of the
season.
ü
The victory was the first time the Bengals have
won in Baltimore since 2021.
🚑 Roster and Injury
Updates
ü
OUT vs. Ravens: Star wide receiver Tee
Higgins was ruled out with a concussion suffered in the previous week's
loss to the Patriots. Defensive end Trey Hendrickson (hip/pelvis) and
running back Tahj Brooks (concussion) also missed the game.
ü
New Injury: Linebacker Brian Asamoah
II injured his knee during the game against the Ravens.
ü
Roster Move: Cornerback Marco Wilson
was placed on the Reserve/Injured list this week with a hamstring injury, while
Safety Daijahn Anthony was also activated from IR along with Burrow.
The Bengals are now on their mini-bye weekend following the
Thursday game.
